Camping

David and I had the last week of July off, for vacation. We had great weather and got to do a lot of fun stuff. Here is our camping experience with Caleb.
So, here we are in the woods. Caleb's first camping trip. I love camping. My Dad used to take us camping quite often as kids and as I was older, with my kids. David and I have been camping together before, but we only had stuff for the two of us.  We took Caleb shopping for his own sleeping bag and we only had a two man tent, so we bought a nice big one. Next year I'm hoping the Tripps can come with us. It was great weather and we had a lot of things we wanted to do with the little guy. Here is our camp site and tent. Caleb was able to pick some blueberries while we worked.

Here he is practicing sleeping in the tent. He did great with that. No problems with him going to bed in the tent at all. He slept very well.

Sitting in front of the fireplace.
David's panoramic view of our campsite.
Here he is flying his airplane around the tent, that Grammie got him before the trip.

It was still early and it was a hot day, so after we got our tent up and the campsite all ready, we went down to the beach on the river and went swimming. The current was very strong, so we had to stay right beside Caleb, so he didn't float away.
Caleb's favorite toy at the playground. Yep, the digger.

Just being goofy together.

The first night we did sparklers.

The first day we got up early and drove to Mt. Washington. We went to the Mt. Washington Cog railway. David and I had gone a couple of years ago and knew Caleb would love it. Which he did. It's amazing how this train can climb this big mountain. It takes about an hour and a half to get to the top. It is so magnificent. The view is gorgeous!

We rented these bikes right at the campsite, they were so much fun. We laughed so hard racing around the campgrounds.

Caleb and I had a hard time pedaling to the top of the hill.

We made s'mores over the campfire tonight. They were so delicious! As you can see Caleb loved his.

The last day, we went to The Polar Caves. David had gone when he was a child, but Caleb and I had never been there. What a beautiful place. It was cool wandering through all the dark caves.
We had a super vacation!!! Can't wait to do it again the week after next:-)
