We packed up a lunch, grabbed the sunscreen and the five of us headed for the zoo. We read some books and sang some songs on the way down. I think Caleb almost has "I'm A Little Teapot" down. We're working on it anyway. He's actually learning some new songs at his new daycare/pre-school. Although, he doesn't say much about it, he's doing very well there. His first week was a success! We all think it's a very positive move for him. He's going to learn so much.
We fed ducks, we fed goats, we fed deer, we took a ride on an elephant. It was all very exciting! A lot of very interesting animals. They got to touch a snake. I was holding Maggie when I asked her if she wanted to touch it. I really didn't think she would, but oh yes, she did. Everything Maggie touched that day was a one finger touch. Not sure why? Safer maybe? Caleb was more interested in seeing the snake's head. It kept hiding behind the girl's neck that was holding it, but Caleb insisted on seeing it, so he did. Caleb said, his favorite part was the monkeys, but I think he enjoyed feeding the animals the best. Maggie loved the butterflies! They were flying all around us in this big room. By the end of our journey, we were all wiped out. I don't know how some people can actually start their families at ages "40" something? On the way home, we had cherries for a snack. As you can see on their faces, they enjoyed them.
