We Made It To Chicago

We started at Nora and Scott's. It was wonderful to see them. Then Charlene and Trevor came over, so we could visit with everyone. These are some of David's life long friend's(for those of you who don't know). We stopped at the Shedd Aquarium first, then went downtown to see the sights. The John Hancock Building was fantastic. Of course we went up to the observation deck, on the 95th floor. WOW!!! I was amazed at how beautiful the city looks from up that high. The beach off to the side of the city was quite a site, nothing like I've ever seen before. Lake Michigan is so huge, it's like an ocean. Of course we all went out to eat a few times and did a little shopping.
Then for my birthday, we had to go check out The Oprah Studio. My girls and I are big fans of Oprah, so I wanted to go and scope it out. We tried to get tickets before we left, but she was all sold out for quite some time. Then David took us all out for my birthday dinner. We went to the 96th floor of "Big John"(so, they call it) so we could watch the sun go down over the big city and watch all the lights, light up the sky! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!! It was very special, something I never imagined doing. Thank you David!! I love you so very much:-* It was nice to see everyone, we had a great time. (Oh, and P.S. Nora & Scott are expecting twins!! YAY!!) Congratulations to them.

Our February Vacation in Niagara Falls, Canada

Well here we are, at Niagara Falls, Canada. We left on Valentine's Day, it was quite a trip. What a beautiful site! This second picture is from our motel window. Quite a view, huh? It was a bright and sunny day for exploring, not quite as warm as we would have liked, but the sun was very warming. Here we are enjoying the sun and sites. The falls are amazing, there were a lot more people there than we thought would be. There was a lot to do. They had rides you could go on, buildings you could go to the top of and look down from. This 3rd picture is from our ride up on the Skylon. There was a rotating restaurant on the top. We also went down under the falls and saw it from that view. They have a casino and I had never been in one before, so of course we had to stop in there. Neither one of us are gamblers, but we thought we'd try beginners luck. Nope, we didn't even know how to get the machines to work:-) Needless to say, we didn't stay too long at the casino. We had a wonderful time together, seeing the sites and being away from home together. After two days there, we were on our way to Chicago! Look for that trip with more pictures tomorrow..

Playing with Caleb in the snow

What a beautiful day to play outside. Our plans were to go sledding, but we couldn't find a sled. I think all the stores were out. I didn't want the day to go by without going outside, so we headed out into the back yard. I wanted to make a snowman. Caleb said, he did too, so I handed the camera to Dad. First Caleb chased the dog, then he went over to play on the little slide, everything but helping me with this snowman "we" wanted to build. He wanted to make snowballs and throw snow at each other, so we did that. He was laughing so hard, he loved that. I think at one point he was playing dead or pretending to suddenly fall asleep. Not sure but there he was laying in the snow with his eyes closed. Finally, he wanted to come over and help build "Frosty." Dad got some sticks for arms and I ran in and got some celery(I know it's supposed to be carrots)for his eyes and nose. He turned out pretty good. We had a great time together, playing in the snow!!!Caleb is such a good boy when he is with us, we enjoy every minute that we are together.

Thank you Aelia for your Valentine's card!

Thank you Aelia for the card you made Caleb. That was so very nice and thoughtful of you. We miss you guys and hope to see you soon. Grammie gave the card to Caleb, when we went over on Sunday. He just kept saying, "I love it!" I got him to say it to Aelia on camera, he did pretty good. He's just not quite as natural as Aelia in front of the camera:-) It is a beautiful card!! Happy Valentine's Day to all of you! May love surround you always!

Caleb's many faces

We were invited to Jud and Marsey's house to play with the girls on Sunday. Instead of driving back to Saco, we went to the Russell farm. We had a snack, because Caleb is always hungry. Here he is at the table laughing with Daddy. Look at those cute little dimples. I had my make-up bag with me and Caleb wanted to see exactly what was in it. He tried it all out on himself. A little lipstick, a little bronzer and he even put some mascara on his eyebrows. What a very pretty girl he would make. He knows all about make-up now:-) This is a picture to save for his first date. Yes, we did wash it off before leaving the house. When we got to Caswell's, the girls were very excited to see Caleb and play with him. They have so many toys, he was in awe. He sat down at this drum set and had a ball. He was pounding away. He did a little singing while he was at it. He does look cute sitting there!! We all had a wonderful day together.
